Alexander Mc Queen’s memorial service gathered to St Paul’s Cathedral, London many top models, designers and other important people of the fashion industry. Among the people who honored McQueen with their presence were Sarah Jessica Parker, Pam Hogg, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Stella McCartney and US Vogue editor Anna Wintor.
The designer was a graduate of Central Saint Martin’s, one of the best universities worldwide. He was named British designer of the year three times and he was described by Alexandra Shulman, editor of British Vogue as a “modern genius”.
Alexander Mc Queen was openly gay and got married in 2000 to G. Forsyth.
The extremely talented designer committed suicide last February the day before his mother‘s funeral. Alexander Mc Queen had a history of depression and anxiety. His tragic death means a great loss for the fashion world as Alexander Mc Queen was more than just a designer. He was an artist.
